What I Learned from Deer Poo
Keep writing new content for your blogs!! You never know what could happen.
I have a blog about being both a redneck and a computer geek at the same time.
One post I made was about a day when I had taken a walk with a colleague around the campus. I work for one of the largest banks in the country, and our campus is set in the woods. There are really nice trails, and in the blog post, I talk about this day when I found some deer poo on the trail, and the tension I felt between wanting to examine it to see how fresh, how large of a deer it was, etc., and the desire to maintain my cool with my colleague.
Silly story, just for laughs, but here’s the point: SOMEONE found my blog by searching the term “COMPUTER POO”.
I have no idea what “computer poo” is, nor do I know why someone was searching for that term. BUT…that person found my blog, because I had a story about a ‘computer guy’ finding ‘deer poo’.
ANY time you are writing for your blog, regardless of how silly, you are creating new combinations of keywords and phrases.
And you NEVER KNOW how some of those combinations might end up being ranked in the search engines.
So, what I learned from Deer Poo is to KEEP WRITING NEW CONTENT for my blogs!
