I’ve created a new tool for folks looking to generate content for their websites or to write articles.

It’s located at http://hot-trends.noduplicatecontent.com, and it’s called the Hot Trends Research Tool.

Did you know about Google Trends? Google publishes the top 100 searches made every several hours.

The Hot Trends Research Tool (HTRT) takes those highly-searched keyword phrases and pulls together a ton of info all in one spot that can help you generate content. This allows you to create content specifically for high-searched traffic.

For example, the keyword phrase ‘apex body bug’ might show up in Google’s list.

At the HTRT, that phrase would appear on the front page, as a link. Clicking on the link takes you to an individual page with information like: blog posts, forum threads, news items, images, videos, and even some keyword data (like related keywords). ALL IN ONE SPOT.

You can do a quick read through some of the articles on the page and you learn enough about the Apex Body Bug to write a post/article of your own (Remember to “uniquify” your article!).

The tool even provides a list of any open Yahoo Answers questions so that you can post your answer (and include a link to your new article). Then social bookmark (like with Socialmarker.com) your new article.

This tactic doesn’t take long at all, but can cause you to see a really quick influx of traffic. It’s up to you how you choose to monetize it (AdSense, related affiliate products, give away a report to build a mailing list, etc.)

HOT TIP: Do NOT try to go for the main keyword phrase “as-is”. They are usually too generic, and you’ll be competing against a ton of other people. You can be sure that even if you modify the phrase, if it’s in Google’s top 100, there are plenty of ‘related’ searches taking place.

HOT TIP #2: Find a related phrase that doesn’t have a lot of competition. So, you might check ‘Apex Body Bug Review’ or ‘Apex Body Bug Discount’, or ‘Cheap Apex Body Bug’, etc., by searching the phrase in Google. (Put quotes around the phrase first.) Then look for the number of results coming back to be around 20,000 or less. If you find a phrase like that, you can usually get on the first page of Google pretty fast, and get lots of traffic!

So check out the Hot Trends Research Tool!

As a part of my online marketing efforts, I have a plethora of information that I have created over the years.

I have articles published in article directories like EzineArticles. I have Blogger blogs, Squidoo lenses, and two dozen WordPress blogs. I have eBooks I’ve published, and free reports I’ve written to give away.

So, if I have a quick minute, I will “Uniquify” my own content and re-publish elsewhere.

I can grab a chapter from an eBook and condense/summarize into an Ezine Article.

I can copy paragraphs from one of my Squidoo Lenses and uniquify it into one of my blogs.

So, if you’re stuck looking for content to write about, maybe you don’t need to search the internet…search your hard drive instead! Revisit the content you’ve already created and recycle it (uniquified, of course!).

Here’s a quick idea for a blog post: write a glossary or an acronym list.

You probably know a whole pile of acronyms or abbreviations, or lingo that is used strictly with your niche. Why not make a bullet list with a short explanation of each term?

Open a notepad window and start jotting down the terms, acronyms and abbreviations you can think of. Then go into your blog and start reading your own posts looking for terms to add. Then go read some other related forums or blogs and see what terms you can add to your list.

Think about it:

it’s super easy to do

it adds value

it’s something that folks are likely to bookmark or refer others to that page

it will very likely contain lots of keywords for your niche, helping with Search Engines

it will likely contain such SPECIFIC keywords that aren’t defined elsewhere…that REALLY helps with the SEs

it’s something you can continue to build

I hope this idea gives you something good to post about today!

YouTube is one of the most-visited websites on the entire Internet. It contains TONS of content related to your niche.

And almost NONE of it is indexed by the search engines!!

I know, the titles and the descriptions are indexed, but think of the millions of hours of footage…all those spoken words, all that information…it’s easily accessible and the search engines ignore it.

But YOU can use this to YOUR ADVANTAGE!!

It’s simple:

go to YouTube.com

search YouTube for keywords related to your topic or niche. add ‘informative’ terms to your keyword like “how to”, “tutorial”, “solution”, etc.

browse a few of the videos, looking for ones that have good information. I prefer ones without advertising for another website. In other words, videos without a website address in the footer at the bottom or the beginning. I don’t mind a website at the end, unless it is a direct competitor.

find the code on the right-side of the YouTube video page that says ‘Embed’. You can copy that code and paste it into your post. Give a quick intro (using the keywords you are targeting), insert the video, and write a quick summary of the key points of the video.

There you have it! You are taking existing content, unidexed by the search engines, and using it to easily create content for your blog…which the search engines WILL find.

By the way…videos are really good for your website because they are ‘sticky’. In other words, visitors to your pages stick around longer to watch the videos. Google pays attention to ‘bounce rate’ (how fast visitors back away from your pages)…and videos are a great way to prevent visitors from bouncing. This increases your sites worth in Google’s eyes!

If you’re like me, you are so busy that you feel like your brain is a bucket full of holes…ideas and information keeps leaking out, lost forever.

There are times when you get a great idea for a blog post, but don’t have time to write it, or even research it.

The solution is simple: create a private page on your blog to collect your blog post ideas.

From your dashboard, go to Pages, and create a page called “Blog Post Ideas”. Then, under the ‘Publish’ options, change the Visibility from Public to Private. Then only you will ever be able to see your list.

You can also add a link to this page directly under your Links section. Just choose Links, Add New, and make sure the ‘Keep this link private’ option is checked before you save it. Then no one else but you will see the link in your blogroll.

When you are logged into your blog, you will see the link in your blogroll. You can visit the page when you are ready to write, and all your ideas are in one place! You can also usually choose the ‘Edit’ function directly from that page, unless you have a template that doesn’t allow that.

Hopefully this little tip will help you keep the content going on your blog…and you can stop losing the good ideas.

Happy blogging!

Keep writing new content for your blogs!! You never know what could happen.

I have a blog about being both a redneck and a computer geek at the same time.

One post I made was about a day when I had taken a walk with a colleague around the campus. I work for one of the largest banks in the country, and our campus is set in the woods. There are really nice trails, and in the blog post, I talk about this day when I found some deer poo on the trail, and the tension I felt between wanting to examine it to see how fresh, how large of a deer it was, etc., and the desire to maintain my cool with my colleague.

Silly story, just for laughs, but here’s the point: SOMEONE found my blog by searching the term “COMPUTER POO”.

I have no idea what “computer poo” is, nor do I know why someone was searching for that term. BUT…that person found my blog, because I had a story about a ‘computer guy’ finding ‘deer poo’.

ANY time you are writing for your blog, regardless of how silly, you are creating new combinations of keywords and phrases.

And you NEVER KNOW how some of those combinations might end up being ranked in the search engines.

So, what I learned from Deer Poo is to KEEP WRITING NEW CONTENT for my blogs!

My wife runs a small gardening blog, but she only writes what’s on HER mind. She doesn’t have enough audience at this point where she needs to keep adding content. (If she did, her readership would grow significantly…she’s a great writer.)

Well, obviously she loves gardening. Therefore she has a TON of gardening magazines on our bookshelves.

The other day I noticed that all of the spines of the magazines had the top articles written on them. With all the magazines stacked so tightly, it looked like one big list of hot topics to write about. And my wife could pen a decent blog post on every single one of those articles, right off the top of her head. (I really need to get on her about that!)

Cruise over to your nearest bookstore and browse the magazines related to your niche, and take a notepad with you. Just looking at the covers will give you nice, juicy titles for things to write about. Jot down 5 of the titles that caught YOUR eye, and write what you know about those!

A good source of content is to write about what you’ve learned recently.

What problem have you had to overcome?

More specifically, what problems or information have you had to search the web for?

Here’s a hint: use your web browser’s History and look through the websites you’ve visited in the past week. What sites do you hit repeatedly? What are YOU reading about?
